Hastings Riders’ Fundraiser Evening
A fun evening out at Lougheed on Tuesday evening as plenty of backstretch boys and girls, along with a healthy smattering of assorted owners and race fans, turned out to help raise money for the Hastings’ Riders Fund at the Lougheed Village Bar & Grill. Following a silent auction, along with a host of games aimed at parting guests from their hard-earned cash, the grand total broke the $5,000 mark! Congratulatuions to all who attended and help swell the coffers of this important fund and many thanks to everyone who donated items for the silent auction. VERY special thanks must also go to Chris Ceraldi who, although unable to attend, very generously donated $2,000 on behalf of WYN Racing Stables!

Trainer of the Week at Emerald Downs
Former Hastings’ handler Jaymie Pearman Cruz is certainly making an impact at Emerald Downs. Pearman Cruz, who is the daughter of Hastings’ trainer Patty Leaney, received the Las Margaritas Trainer of the Week Award at Emerald Downs after saddling two winners last week. Five of Pearman Cruz’s seven runners at Emerald Downs this season have either won or finished second.
