Let There Be Light
Contractors have been on site at Hastings this week to investigate issues surrounding last Friday’s floodlighting outage that led, on safety grounds, to the cancellation of the evening’s final race.
After discovering a damaged/burnt fuse holder in the electrical room’s main contact board for the grandstand lights, replacements were installed and all other fuse holders on the same board were upgraded. New fuses were also fitted to prevent the problem recurring.
As planned, contractors also brought in a boom lift and replaced the three broken lights at the starting gate area with new LEDs. Grandstand and track lights were all tested and are all working and bright.
Since the investigation and repairs above took all day, contractors will return this week before Friday to inspect the track lights contact board and will replace all fuse holders and fuses as necessary.
